My condolences to his family and friends. I am terribly saddened that he left this world too early. Rest in peace my dear cousin!!
I wanted to say several things about his childhood which to this day I cherish. He was my 3rd cousin from the Berksan branch of the family. My grandmother and his grandfather were first cousins. During summers, all the cousins and friends spent countless hours with him (swimming, walking, biking, eating ice cream, stealing summer fruits from the neighbors’ gardens, talking and listening his countless jokes) at the Bosphorus where all Berksan and Bersanlar lived. Same crowd would convene again during winters at his grandparents (Kergin & Yetvard dede) Nisantasi apartment and often run the building elevator non stop for fun.
Last time I spoke to him on the phone, it was two years ago, he sounded very optimistic about the treatment he was getting. Although, I wanted to call him all the time and ask how he was doing, however, out of respect, I stopped calling him because I didn’t want him to think I was being nosy. I wished I had called him all the time. My heart sank of his passing. Astvadigi agvor hokit lusavore pasa Kurkenigis.
