Opening Night Feature Film: LOST BIRDS By AFFMA

 

Arpa Foundation for Film, Music, & Art (AFFMA) is pleased to announce the 18th anniversary of its signature event, Arpa International Film Festival, which will be held from November 13 – 15 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

We are very excited to announce our
Opening Night Feature Film:

Co-written and directed by an Armenian, Aren Perdeci, and Turkish, Ela Alyamac
LOST BIRDS is the first film shot in Turkey to depict the tragedy of 1915
on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The story follows siblings, Bedo (Heros Agopyan) and Maryam (Dila Uluca), whose happy life in Anatolia is torn when their grandfather (Sarkis Acemoglu) is taken away by soldiers. In the days that follow, their mother (Takuhi Bahar) forbids them to go outside, but kids being kids, they run away to their secret favorite place to play.  Upon their return, they find their home and the entire village empty.  Together, with a wounded bird, they embark on a journey to find their mother’.

LOST BIRDS has already garnered much attention, being featured in the American Cinematographer Magazine with a 9-page article on the beautiful imagery created by the film’s cinematographer, Aren Perdeci.
