We will be hosting Andre Gumuchdjian is a

Belgian-Armenian philanthropist and entrepreneur

on Sunday December 7th at 5 p m at our centre.

Andre’s four grandparents are all Armenians from

Istanbul.

Andre promises a fascinating lecture on "The

Challenges of Large-Scale Reforestation" and the

mysteries of the forest. He will be highlighting the

accomplishments of My Forest Armenia, a non-profit

organisation he founded in 2019 and which has planted

over 3.00,000 trees to date.

André Gumuchdjian was born in Antwerp, Belgium and

dedicates his life to philanthropy. In 2013 he was

rewarded with the title of Knight of the Legion of Honor

for creating and developing a French Lycée. The same

year he opened a 13.000 square foot Armenian

community centre in Brussels.

A seasoned sailor, he has made numerous voyages

across the world's oceans, including two expeditions to

Antarctica. Today, he is passionate about the

environment, and more specifically, about forests, which

are essential for life on Earth.

His passion and his dynamism will be at the heart of the

evening. We hear a lot about global warming, the climate

crisis, and the effects of CO2, but in reality, we know so

little. Join us for this conference, which promises to be

informative and, at the same time, will inspire us to

become informed participants in shaping our future on

Earth.

André Gumuchdjian will also present the Charles

Aznavour project, a 100 hectare forest for his centenary.

This represents 300,000 trees of new forest in Armenia.
